Nashville On Track For Spring

Thursday, 4th July 2013

Talented G1-winning NZ galloper Nashville (Darci Brahma-Royal Kiss, by Royal Academy) is progressing nicely in the lead up to his return to racing which may include a trip across the Tasman for the Melbourne spring carnival, reports NZ Racing Desk. The 4YO gelding's initial target will be the first two legs of the Hawke's Bay Triple Crown which kicks off with the NZ$200,000 Gr1 Makfi Challenge Stakes (1400m) at Hastings on 31 August. According to trainer Adrian Bull, a decision will then be made whether to contest the final leg before travelling to Australia. "He'll head to Hawke's Bay for the 1400 metre one on the first day and then back for the mile on the second day (September 21)," stated Bull. "We'll see how he goes after that and the Gr1 on the last day is a real possibility. We'll think about Australia and Melbourne in the spring would be very nice." Nashville has won 6 of his 14 starts (including the Gr1 WFA Stakes (1600m) at Otaki defeating top-flight gallopers Ocean Park and Veyron) for $252,694 earnings.
