Waller One Win Away From Record

Thursday, 4th July 2013

Trainer Chris Waller has extended his insurmountable lead in the Sydney Trainers' Premiership with two winners at Warwick Farm yesterday. Wins by 3YO geldings Clever Boy (Street Sense-Vocabulary, by Encosta de Lago) & Another Lovechild (Magic Albert-Rivers Secret, by Flying Spur) have pushed Waller's seasonal tally to 155.5 with the Rosehill horseman now just a dead-heat win shy of equalling Tommy Smith's and Gai Waterhouse's record of 156 wins in a season. Waller is now 78.5 wins clear of nearest rival Gai Waterhouse (77 wins) with Darley's Peter Snowden in 3rd position (71.5 wins), after both landed solitary winners on the day (4YO gelding The Great Snowman & 2YO colt Suit, respectively). Waller is poised to break the record this Saturday with 11 horses engaged at Rosehill Gardens.
