Continued Success For Aust-Based Storm Cat Son

Friday, 5th July 2013

Queensland's Merlo Downs permanently-based sire El Nino (Storm Cat-Bay Harbor, by Forty Niner) has recently recorded his 19th individual winner in the US. His oldest Australian crop are about to become yearlings, while his oldest US crop are 4YOs. Over the last fortnight, El Nino has recorded a flurry of metropolitan winners including Indy El Nino, Surprize Me, London Gold and Aziforcast, and has left the winners of over US$ 1 million from only 28 runners, including stakes-perfomers Senor Rain (El Nino-Make My Marq, by Marquetry) and Sacred Romance (El Nino-Holy Paree, by Holy Bull). He will stand his third Australian season, along with 2001 Canadian Gr1 Grey Breeders' Cup Stakes winner Changeintheweather (Gone West-Meteor Colony, by Pleasant Colony). Both stand for $5,500.
