Reliable Man To Stand At NZ$15,000

Friday, 5th July 2013

NZ Karaka-based Westbury Stud has confirmed that their recent stallion acquisition Reliable Man (Dalakhani-On Fair Stage, by Sadler's Wells) will stand at a fee of NZ$15,000 for the upcoming breeding season. Westbury stud principal Gerry Harvey was successful in purchasing a majority interest in the dual Gr1-winner in partnership with a syndicate of Australasian breeders. The world-class galloper can boast the rare distinction of being a Gr1 winner in both hemispheres having won the Gr1 Prix du Jockey Club (2100m) at three, under the guidance of French master Alain de Royer-Dupré, and the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick when trained by Chris Waller. Reliable Man joins Gr1 winners Makfi (NZ$22,500), Redwood (NZ$12,500), Red Giant (NZ$10,000) and Swiss Ace (NZ$10,000) on Westbury's impressive stallion roster, which is complemented by Gr1-producing sires Captain Rio ($7,000) and Postponed (NZ$7,000), and young stakes winning sire Cecconi (NZ$4,000). All fees are plus GST. Reliable Man should prove popular among breeders given his superb international pedigree. Among a host of Gr1 performers littering his page is his second dam, Fair Salinia, winner of the Gr1 English, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks.
