Budding 3YO WA Star Still Undefeated

Monday, 8th July 2013

Exciting West Australian 3YO sprinter Smoko (Snitzel-London Lights, by Bletchingly) marked himself as one of the most promising gallopers in the state when cruising to a 2.75-lengths win in a benchmark 60 Handicap (1200m) for 3YO+ at Belmont on Saturday. The son of Gr1-winning & dual Gr1-placed Arrowfield Stud stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) remains unbeaten in 3 career outings which have yielded a combined winning margin of 11.5-lengths. Smoko is owned by Frank Fiore who purchased the gelding for $75,000 at the 2011 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Bellerive Stud. He is the last foal from the Bletchingly mare London Lights who died earlier this year. London Lights has produced 7 winners including Gr1 Flight Stakes winner Only A Lady (Sir Tristram) & Listed Dermody Stakes winner Lisson Grove (Dehere).
