At Greyville in South Africa, Gr1-winning & 4-times Gr1-placed shuttler & former champion 3YO miler Excellent Art (Pivotal-Obsessive, by Seeking The Gold) added a black-type success when the gelding Lehaaf (Excellent Art-Sarkha, by Danehill) scored by 0.2-length for trainer Mike de Kock in the R135,000 Listed Thukela Handicap (1600m) for 3YOs+, over 4YO entire Blaze Of Fire (Victory Moon-Buccellati, by Secret Prospector) & 5YO gelding Emperor Augustus (Kahal-Roman Dream, by Jallad). One of the most promising gallopers in De Kock's stable, the Argentinian-bred Lehaaf is out of the Australian-bred Sarkha from the family of Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Dead Certain. Lehaaf took his record to 4 wins & 4 placings for R309,900 earnings.
