Frankel Achieves 126 Positives From 133 Matings
The world's highest ever-rated racehorse Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) has made a barn-storming start at stud. According to bloodstock.racingpost.com, Frankel's first season at owner Prince Kahlid Abdullah's Banstead Manor has resulted in 126 positive coverings from 133 matings, an exceptional figure. Among the mares covered were 24 belonging to the Juddmonte principal. All-told, there were 117 mares covered that are either black-type performers or producers, which included "38 Group or Grade 1 winners and 26 dams of Group or Grade 1 winners, with two mares fitting in both categories". Frankel will next cover a limited number of mares to Southern Hemisphere time.
