JHRA Select Yearling Sale: Deep Impact In Huge Demand
The continued outstanding performance of progeny by champion racehorse Deep Impact (Sunday Silence-Wind In Her Hair, by Alzao) saw demand soar for his yearlings at yesterday's Japan Horse Racing Association's Select Sale. A pair of Deep Impact colts sold for ¥180,000,000 (A$1,952,831) & ¥170,000,000 (A$1,844,239) respectively. The top lot, sold by Northern Farm, was purchased by Riichi Kondo who owns the colt's half-brother, while under-bidder Takaya Shimakawa had earlier purchased the second highest-priced lot, out of Gr1 winner Persistently (Smoke Glacken).
