Valuable Redoute's Choice Colt On Debut

Tuesday, 9th July 2013

Future stallion prospect Eagle Shaman (Redoute's Choice-Red Hot Mama, by General Nediym) will make his debut in a fascinating 2YO maiden plate (1000m) at Kembla Grange today. The Arrowfield Stud & Blue Sky Thoroughbreds-owned colt will be one of many well-bred juveniles stepping out for the first time in the opening race on the card that also includes 2YO Purrealist gelding Tansy, a relation to NZ Gr1-winning stallion King's Chapel; 2YO Encosta de Lago filly Layo Layo, from the stakes-winning mare Tantra; & 2YO Northern Meteor filly Streaking Comet, related to US Gr1-winning stallion Manila. Eagle Shaman, purchased by Blue Sky Thoroughbreds as a member of its stallion fund for $325,000 at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Broadwater Thoroughbreds, will prove a very astute investment should he pick up a Gr1 victory during his career. By champion sire Redoute's Choice, he is a full-brother to stakes-winning & stakes-placed fillies Mama's Choice & Red Hot Choice, from the Listed Myer Stakes winner Red Hot Mama.
