Fasig-Tipton Adds To Select Sale Format
Thoroughbred auction company Fasig-Tipton has announced a new auction format it hopes will become part of the traditional select yearling auction season which commences at its Kentucky base on July 15, reports drf.com. Following the company's July Sale yearling session, an estimated 50-65 horses with "meaningful racing potential" will be sold to leading buyers. The inaugural Summer Selected Horses Of Racing Age sale will be launched at a time of year when yearlings are usually the centre of attention. But Fasig-Tipton chief executive Boyd Browning believes the sale has real potential. "If you're in the racing game, there is a very healthy market out there for a fit and ready racehorse [who is] ready to be able to go back to the races in, say, weeks or a month," vice president of sales Bayne Welker explained. "There's a strong desire to have those."
