Royal Delta Sibling Goes On With The Job
Promising US 3YO filly Carnival Court (Street Sense-Delta Princess, by A.P. Indy), a half-sister to 4-time Gr1-winning mare Royal Delta, seems to have inherited her fair share of the family ability, winning yet again at Belmont Park, reports thoroughbreddailynews.com. After failing on a rain soaked track at Gulfstream on debut, Carnival Court showed her true colours cruising home by no less than 12.75-lengths (8.5 furlongs) at her 2nd start at Belmont in May. She then returned to Belmont on Sunday defeating fellow 3YO filly Bliss (Flashy Bull-Stormy Bliss, by Thunder Gulch) by a neck after the two staged a thrilling duel in the straight. Carnival Court took her record to 2 wins from 3 starts for US$156,020 earnings, but still has a long way to go if she is to replicate the deeds of her famous half-sibling. Royal Delta (Empire Maker-Delta Princess, by A.P. Indy) is a champion mare who has scored elite victories in the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (9 furlongs) - twice, Gr1 Beldame Invitational Stakes (9 furlongs) & Gr1 Alabama Stakes (9 furlongs) among a host of group-placed accomplishments that earned her nearly US$4 million in stakes.
