Dubai Next Challenge For SAf Gr1 Durban July Hero
Meanwhile, last weekend's Gr1 Durban July winner Heavy Metal (Silvano-Percussion, by Baroon) could be aimed at the Dubai World Cup carnival early next year, reports goldcircle.co.za. After discussing the 4YO gelding's future with owner Chris van Niekerk, trainer Sean Tarry has decided on an international campaign for his stable star. Tarry commented: "Heavy Metal has taken the race well but we haven't brought him back to Jo'burg yet because we are finalising our next move. At this stage the plan is to go overseas via Mauritius. His style of racing is tailor-made for Hong Kong but we won't get there in time for the December meeting so our focus will probably be on Dubai, and then perhaps Singapore with maybe Hong Kong after that."
