Former Shuttler Fasliyev Deceased

One-time Coolmore Australia shuttler Fasliyev (Nureyev-Mr P's Princess, by Mr Prospector) has died at stud in Japan, reports racingpost.com. Currently the sire of 801 winners from 1,298 starters worldwide, Fasliyev died "due to a severe diaphragmatic hernia" while standing at Japan's Yushun Stallion Company according to a Twitter tweet by Dr Naoya Yoshida. An undefeated dual Gr1 winner as a 2YO in Europe, Fasliyev was crowned Champion Freshman Sire of Europe with 34 individual winners. His leading progeny include UK Gr1 winner Carry On Katie, as well as another 31 individual stakes-winners, 4 of them among his 251 individual winners in Australia.
