McDonald Riding At Kranji This Sunday

Thursday, 11th July 2013

New Zealand-born jockey James McDonald will ride in the S$1,150,000 Gr1 Singapore Derby (200m) at Kranji on Sunday, reports NZ Racing Desk. McDonald will partner the Mark Walker-trained 4YO Feisty Leo in the Derby with several other mounts booked for the day. The 21-year-old McDonald, who is based in Sydney, has recently enjoyed a riding stint in the UK where he won five races. The Singapore Derby, restricted to 4YO+ horses, is the final leg of the Singapore 4YO Challenge and follows the opening two legs of the Gr2 Stewards' Cup (1400m) & the Gr1 Patron's Bowl (1600m) won by Speedy Cat and Super Easy, respectively.
