Old Fashioned Sires First Winner
In the US, 7YO first crop stallion Old Fashioned (Unbridled's Song-Collect Call, by Meadowlake) sired his first winner when 2YO gelding Chicks Dig It (Old Fashioned-Titia, by Northern Spur) claimed an allowance race over 5.5 furlongs at Presque Isle racetrack in Pennsylvania. Commencing stud duties in 2010 following a brief but successful racing career, Old Fashioned has started off on a promising note with progeny sold through the ring. On the racetrack, the striking grey or roan entire was a fast, precocious juvenile who won all 3 of his 2YO starts by a combined margin of 23-lengths. He recorded 4 wins (including the Gr2 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct & the Gr3 Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn) & 2 placings from 6 starts for US$583,280 earnings. Old Fashioned stands at Taylor Made, alongside his sire Unbridled's Song, at a fee of US$8,000.
