Impeccably Bred Colt Australia A Chance To Break Maiden
Blue-blooded 2YO colt Australia (Galileo-Ouija Board, by Cape Cross) will be out to remedy his unlucky debut defeat at The Curragh this weekend, reports turftrax.com. The Aidan O'Brien-trained juvenile was responsible for an eye-catching performance when beaten only a neck at The Curragh a fortnight ago after missing the start by 5-lengths. Consequently, he is likely to be a dominant favourite when he lines up in the Darley European Breeders Fund Maiden on Irish Oaks day this Saturday. Coolmore clearly holds the son of Galileo & 7-time Gr1-winning mare Ouija Board in some esteem, with entries in the Gr1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes on September 13 & next year's English Derby. In an interesting aside, one of Australia's potential rivals is the Richard Hannon-trained first-timer Gorteo. Gorteo is a Teofilo half-sister to Hannon's former unbeaten juvenile Harbour Watch (Acclamation) & top South African mare Europa Point (Rock Of Gibraltar).
