Intello Citadel For Possible Dawn Raid On France

Thursday, 18th July 2013

Meanwhile, France's best 3YO Intello is quietly going about his business ahead of a possible showdown with top English colt Dawn Approach in the Gr1 Jacques le Marois at Deauville next month, reports sportinglife.com. The French 3YO feature, scheduled for August 11 over a mile, has been earmarked as Intello's next assignment while Dawn Approach's trainer Jim Bolger has confirmed that the race is also on his multiple Gr1 winner's agenda. Dawn Approach and Toronado will first clash in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 31, but if all goes to plan it appears likely that Dawn Approach will make the trip across the Channel. Trainer Andre Fabre reports he is pleased with Intello's progress ahead of the Marois and appears rather unperturbed about taking on Dawn Approach. "He came out of his last race very nicely and we are looking forward to running in the Jacques le Marois next," explained Fabre. "The race at Goodwood will be a nice race to watch, we will see what happens there… our horse is very well and the Marois is the right race for him."
