US Import Searching For 4-Straight In Singapore

Thursday, 18th July 2013

Highly promising US-bred Singapore sprinter Flash Gift (Lawyer Ron-Weekend Star, by Confide) will make his eagerly awaited return to racing this Friday at Kranji. The 4YO son of deceased Gr1-winning US stallion Lawyer Ron has created a big impression in his brief career to date, winning all three starts by a combined winning margin of nearly 7-lengths. Flash Gift has not raced since easily accounting for Gr2 winner Running Tall by 2.5-lengths last August, but two recent barrier trial wins suggest he is ready to pick up where he left off. Trainer John O'Hara believes his exciting prospect is primed to do just that. "He's done a terrific job winning three from three and he just needed a break," stated O'Hara. "There's nothing wrong with him. He's come back good and I hope he can carry on with the same form he showed at his first prep..." O'Hara will be hoping that Flash Gift can step up and fill the void left by stable star Emerald Hill after the talented sprinter broke down in the Gr1 KrisFlyer in May. "I'm not saying Flash Gift can replace Emerald Hill as he's still got some way to go before he reaches that kind of level…but if he can get back to his best after such a long spell, at least he can give us something to cheer."
