Australian Bloodstock Directors Fined

Monday, 22nd July 2013

Following a Racing NSW stewards' inquiry, Australian Bloodstock co-directors Luke Murrell and Jamie Lovett were fined last Friday, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The Racing NSW inquiry investigated the bona fides of the ownership of the ex-German galloper Hathras. In particular, the inquiry focused on the ownership of shares by three TVN presenters. Murrell & Lovett were fined $5,000 and $3,000 respectively after each pleaded guilty to making false statements to Racing NSW Racecourse Detective Albert Gardner regarding the ownership of Clark and Pettit. A further charge against Murrell for providing a false statement to Gardner on May 31 was adjourned. Murrell & Lovett also face a hearing as to whether they have breached rule 69P, which states that promoters of racehorse shares must hold the appropriate accreditation. The inquiry was adjourned to a date yet to be decided.
