Europe On Radar For It's A Dundeel

Monday, 22nd July 2013

Champion 3YO stayer It's A Dundeel (High Chaparral-Stareel, by Zabeel) could potentially campaign in Europe later this year, reports theage.com.au. It's A Dundeel, a breathtaking winner of the Australian Derby in the autumn, will kick off his 4YO spring campaign in six weeks time in either the Gr1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 31, or the Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington  on September 7. Trainer Murray Baker has confirmed that the horse's primary spring objective is the $3 million WS Cox Plate at Moonee Valley in October. Regular rider James McDonald partnered It's A Dundeel in a track gallop in New Zealand last week, commenting he felt "brilliant", and enthusing, "Hopefully he will stand up and make his mark in Melbourne and [then] potentially campaign in Europe."
