Darley Australia To Replicate US Sire Auction Initiative
In breeding news, Darley will host three online auctions offering nominations to Danehill stallions Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) & Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) for the upcoming southern hemisphere breeding season following the success of a similar initiative in the US earlier this year, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Three nominations will be available to each stallion and will be auctioned separately over three consecutive weeks. There will be no reserve, and nominations will be subject to Darley Australia's usual terms. Darley's head of sales in Australia Alastair Pulford commented, "We are extremely excited about this initiative. It was very well received by our clients in America earlier this year and we are confident it will be a tremendous success here in Australia, too." Both stallions are members of Darley's roster at its Kelvinside Stud at Aberdeen in the NSW Hunter Valley. Exceed And Excel, who will imminently be crowned champion Australian sire for the 2012/13 season, stands at a fee of $88,000 while Commands stands for $55,000.
