Boom NZ Colt Arrives In Australia

Thursday, 25th July 2013

Exciting kiwi colt Cauthen (Darci Brahma-Minori Express, by Green Line Express) has arrived in Australia to begin his build-up toward the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas on October 12, reports NZ Racing Desk. After destroying a maiden field by 8.5-lengths on debut at Te Rapa earlier this month, the 2YO was immediately rested with a view to taking on Australia's best 3YOs in the spring. Cauthen is likely to have his first Australian start at Moonee Valley on August 3. Trainer Andrew Campbell, who crossed the Tasman in 2010 to win the Gr2 Blamey Stakes with Montjeu stallion Tavistock, commented, "It's a 1000 metre race and they may run him off his feet, but it's a pipe-opener for him there's another race for him there on the 24th before the Prelude and then the Guineas."
