New Appointments At Racing Queensland
Another vital step in the rejuvenation of Queensland's racing industry has been taken with the appointment of the CEO for the newly-created Queensland All Codes Racing Industry Board (QACRIB), trading as Racing Queensland. Racing Minister Steve Dickson confirmed that Darren Condon, currently Chief Operating Officer with the Brisbane Racing Club, had been appointed to the position. "Mr Condon is a racing administrator of the highest calibre and as Racing Queensland CEO he will use his ability and experience to take on one of the most important racing positions in Queensland," explained Dickson. The Minister also announced the appointment of additional members of the new Racing Disciplinary Board, following the initial appointment in May of former Supreme Court Judge Bill Carter QC as chair. "These appointments will help take Queensland's $855 million racing industry forward, with board operations to be effective as of 1 August 2013." Condon's appointment will also be effective from 1 August 2013, for a term of three years.
