At Deauville in France, former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a black-type success when 4YO mare Elusive Kate (Elusive Quality-Gout de Terroir, by Lemon Drop Kid) scored by 2.25-lengths for trainer John Gosden in the €300,000 Gr1 Prix Rothschild (1600m) for 3YO+ fillies & mares, over fellow 4YO mare Duntle (Danehill Dancer-Lady Angola, by Lord At War) & 3YO filly Kenhope (Kendargent-Bedford Hope, by Chato). Elusive Kate took her record to 7 wins (including last start's Gr1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac & Gr1 Prix Rothschild) & 4 placings (including the Gr1 Prix Jacques Le Marois, Gr1 Sun Chariot Stakes & Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes) from 14 starts.
