Final Touch Shaping Nicely For Spring

Monday, 29th July 2013

NZ Horse of the Year contender Final Touch (Kashani-My Lydia, by Umatilla) is ready for the start of her spring campaign, reports NZ Racing Desk. Co-trainer Karen Parsons was pleased with the 5YO dual-Gr1-winning mare's effort in a recent barrier trial and indicated she is likely to resume in the Waikato Stud Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa on the August 17. "She went a nice trial and has pulled up well afterwards so I'm pleased with where she is at as we get her ready for the Hawkes Bay triple crown races," commented Parsons. "I think we'll take her to Te Rapa for the Foxbridge Plate but that will depend on the surface she will get as I don't want to give her a gut buster on a deep track in her first run back." Last preparation was Final Touch's best, winning the Gr1 Captain Cook Stakes & the Gr1 Telegraph Handicap.
