Redoute's Choice Mare Breaks UK Ascot Track Record

Monday, 29th July 2013

At Ascot in the UK, Galician, a 4YO daughter of Arrowfield Stud's former Australian champion sire Redoute's Choice, set a new 7-furlong track record at Ascot with victory in the £100,000 Betfair International Stakes. Raced by Sheikh Hamdan, Galician (Redoute's Choice-Gweneira, by Machiavellian) notched up her 6th win (with 10 placings) and suggested an opportunity at stakes level can't be far away. Her dam Gweneira was successful at 1.25 miles and is a half-sister to the dam of French Gr1 winner Alpine Rose, now in foal to Redoute's Choice after visiting him at HH The Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval this year. Meanwhile, Redoute's Choice, sire of 20 stakes-winners worldwide in 2012/13, returns next month to Arrowfield where he will parade at their Stallion Open House on 22 – 25 August.
