Second Effort Wins Gr3 Bletchingly Stakes

At Caulfield in Melbourne, Gr1-winning & 4-time Gr1-placed Vinery Stud stallion Mossman (Success Express-Lichen Lady, by Twig Moss) added a group success when 6YO gelding Second Effort (Mossman-Relativity, by Geiger Counter) scored by 0.4-length for trainer Clinton McDonald in the $150,000 Gr3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) for 3YO+, over 5YO gelding Academy Jack (Royal Academy-Gdansk Danzer, by Roi Danzig) & fellow 6YO gelding Launay (Lonhro-Eve in Seychelles, by Palace Music). This was Second Effort's fourth stakes success and took his record to 11 wins (including the Gr2 PB Lawrence Stakes & Listed Wangoom Handicap – twice) & 7 placings (including the Gr2 Memsie Stakes, Listed Chester Manifold Stakes & penultimate Listed Sir John Monash Stakes) from 30 starts for $657,843 earnings.
