Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes Winner Relocates Stud Farms
UK stallion Milk It Mick (Millkom-Lunar Music, by Komaite) will stand at Norton Grove Stud in Yorkshire for the 2014 breeding season, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The 12YO son of Millkom will relocate from Bill Smith's Kelanne Stud in Hampshire and be available at a fee of £1,500. During his racing career, Milk It Mick won 6 of 28 starts including two Gr1s, the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket and the Frank E Kilroe Mile Handicap at Santa Anita. Earlier this month he sired his first stakes winner when 2YO colt Miracle Of Medinah (Milk it Mick-Smart Ass, by Shinko Forest) won the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury. Norton Grove Stud owner Richard Lingwood was pleased to have a stallion of Milk It Mick's calibre join his roster. "Up here in the north we don't often get the chance to stand a stallion who has won a couple of Gr1s - and he's also just had a recent black-type winner - so we're hopeful that next season we'll be able to attract a few mares for him."
