Kentucky Governor Appoints Wayne Lukas To Commission

Hall Of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas has been appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission in a term that expires in mid-2016, reports drf.com. Lukas replaces Michael Pitino who resigned earlier this year after moving to Florida. Beshear also appointed James Richardson to the commission, replacing Frank Kling, whose term expired on July 1. Richardson, an owner and breeder, and a surgeon with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, was recently elected to the board of the Breeders' Cup.
