Schofield Has Licence To Terrorise Apprentice Ranks Again

With the world at his feet after heading this season's Melbourne apprentice premiership following a similar feat in Sydney last year, Chad Schofield appeared set to start tomorrow's new season as a senior rider, however that ambition will be put on ice for a further year, reports news.com.au. Currently riding for David Hayes, with whom Schofield's family has a strong relationship through the Hong Kong involvement of his now Sydney-based father, Glynn, Schofield Jnr has been informed by Racing Victoria stewards that despite his record-breaking achievements, he has yet to fulfill the mandatory four-year apprenticeship and he will be required to continue under Hayes' tutelage for the meantime. The decision was supported by Hayes.
