Spendthrift Snaps Up Sire Flashpoint
Major US stud farm Spendthrift has purchased young Gr2-winning sire Flashpoint (Pomeroy-Two Punch Lil, by Two Punch) for stud duty at its Louisiana property, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The now 5YO will be part of Spendthrift's innovative 'Share The Upside' breeding program in 2014. Florida-bred Flashpoint (originally a US$115,000 yearling at the Keeneland January Sale & later a US$100,000 yearling at the Keeneland September Sale) won 5 of his 15 starts (including victories in both the Gr2 Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream Park & Gr3 Jersey Shore Stakes at Monmouth Park) for US$361,722 in earnings. Flashpoint (whose dam Two Punch Lil was a multiple stakes-winner) is a half-brother to Japanese stakes-winner & US$1.158 million earner Uncle Lee Sam.
