Strada Claims Stakes Double

Thursday, 1st August 2013

Riverdene Stud stallion Strada (Danehill-Shindig, by Straight Strike) had a day to remember when siring a stakes double in Perth and Macau last weekend. The David Harrison-trained 4YO gelding Settle Strada (Strada-Unsettled, by Thunder Gulch) was the first to strike when scoring his second stakes success in the Listed H.G. Bolton Sprint (1200m) at Belmont. The victory followed his win in the Listed Beaufine Stakes two weeks earlier and took his record to 7 wins & 5 placings from 15 starts for $239,750 earnings. A short time later, star Macau galloper Lucky & Wealthy (Strada-Star Above, by Zabeel) rounded out the double when he claimed the 3rd stakes win of his career in the M$1 million Listed Macau Gold Cup. Lucky And Wealthy took his record to 10 wins from 23 starts with his other stakes wins being the Listed Macau Derby & Listed Lisboa Juvenile. Strada has now sired 6 stakes winners with Settle Strada and Lucky & Wealthy joining Gr3 SAJC Chairman's Stakes winner Hioctdane, Charm's Honour, Mister John & Gold Broker.
