Breeders' Cup Marathon Winner Heads Home

Friday, 2nd August 2013

Last year's Breeders' Cup Marathon (14 furlongs) winner Calidoscopio (Luhuk-Calderona, by Lefty) will stand the southern hemisphere breeding season at Haras la Quebrada farm in Argentina, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The 10YO retires to his birthplace after a memorable victory in the Gr2 Brooklyn Handicap at Belmont Park in June, when he made up a 20-length deficit with 800 metres remaining to record a stunning win. Last year Calidoscopio became the first South American-trained horse to win at the Breeders' Cup with a last-to-first triumph in the Marathon for his former trainer Guillermo Frankel.
