Another Class Act For Magnificent Style Family

Monday, 5th August 2013

The dynasty of outstanding broodmare Magnificent Style (Silver Hawk-Mia Karina, by Icecapade) looks to have unearthed yet another top class prospect with the impressive Newmarket win of 2YO Sound Reflection on Saturday, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Magnificent Style, winner of the Gr3 Musidora Stakes at York, is one of the truly great broodmares in the world today. She is the dam of 8 individual stakes winners (3 Gr1 winners) headed by the Gr1-winning Galileo siblings Nathaniel (Gr1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes & Gr1Eclipse Stakes) & Great Heavens (Gr1 Irish Oaks), as well as Sadler's Wells mare Playful Act (Gr1 Fillies' Mile), Gr2 winner Percussionist (Sadler's Wells), Gr3 winner Changing Skies (Sadler's Wells) & Listed winners Stylelistick (Storm Cat) & Petara Bay (Peintre Celebre). The Godolphin-owned Street Cry filly Sound Reflection is from Magnificent Style's other stakes-winning daughter Echoes Of Eternity (Spinning World), winner of the Gr2 Doncaster Park Hill Stakes & Gr2 Newmarket Sun Chariot Stakes. Sound Reflection, a half-sister to Gr3 winner Whispering Gallery, was sent out the 5-2 favourite and coasted home by a widening 3.5-lengths, giving the overwhelming impression that there is plenty more to come. Magnificent Style has an unraced colt by Oasis Dream called Throne Room, a yearling filly by Oasis Dream called Willoughby, & interestingly from an Australian perspective, a 2013 filly foal by Fastnet Rock called Rocksavage.
