Early Rivalry Suggests Lots More To Come

Monday, 5th August 2013

Unusually for Sydney, two of the most potential-laden juveniles to come out of last season never faced the starter in an official race until the twilight of the winter. The duo comprises now 3YO colts Bull Point (Fastnet Rock-Rose of Cimmaron, by Bite the Bullet) & Eurozone (Northern Meteor-Miss Vandal, by Don't Say Halo). While the latter remains undefeated from his only two starts for James & Bart Cummings, high-priced Gai Waterhouse-trained Bull Point has only tasted defeat once in his first three starts – when runner-up to Eurozone after an habitual tardy start. The foes are expected to clash on Saturday in the Listed Rosebud (1200m) at Randwick where they will face a line-up of emerging sophomore talent.
