US$1.225 Million Filly Tops Fasig-Tipton Select Opening
A Dynaformer filly was the top-priced offering on the opening night's session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling sale in New York, reports bloodhorse.com. The well-related filly went for US$1.225 million to Three Chimneys Farm's Robert Clay from the consignment of Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services. The filly, which is a half-sister to multiple group-winning colt Optimizer (English Channel), is from the A.P. Indy mare Indy Pick, a half-sister to Gr1 Matron Stakes & Gr1 Acorn stakes winner Finder's Fee (Storm Cat). Clay, who had assigned the filly a 7 out of 7 rating prior to the sale, was clearly delighted with his purchase. "It was nice to get a Dynaformer filly," commented Clay. "She's a lovely Dynaformer. [She is] really nice, has a lot of quality. There aren't many [Dynaformers] left."
