US$1 Million Distorted Humor Filly At Fasig-Tipton Select

Wednesday, 7th August 2013

Meanwhile, the second highest price paid on the night was US$1 million for a Distorted Humor filly from the stakes-winning A.P. Indy mare Cascading. The filly belongs to the family of outstanding broodmare Better Than Honour, the dam of champion mare Rags to Riches, Gr1-winning sire Jazil, Gr2 winner Casino Drive & stakes winner Man Of Iron. The filly was purchased by Charlotte Weber's Live Oak Plantation and was consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency. Hill 'n' Dale's principal John Sikura was pleased that the market reacted positively to the rare opportunity to buy into the Better Than Honour family. "I thought she was a million-dollar filly and beyond that... I don't think you get to see a filly like that very often," he said.
