Trio Of R1 Million-Plus Jetmaster Debutants At Clairwood

Thursday, 8th August 2013

Three well-related million dollar-plus colts by brilliant stallion Jet Master (Rakeen-Jet Lightning, by Rollins) will make their debuts at Clairwood in South Africa this Sunday. All three debutants are graduates of the 2012 Cape Premier Yearling Sale at Kenilworth. The highest priced of the trio is Helderberg Blue (Jet Master-Our Table Mountain, by Fusaichi Pegasus), who was purchased by trainer Mike Bass for R2.8 million. Helderberg Blue, from the stakes winning mare Our Table Mountain, is a half-brother to Gr1-placed Careful Hiker (Spectrum). He will line up in the Power Fridge Logistics Maiden Plate over 1200m. Next is the 3YO colt Mountain Master (Jet Master-Mountains of Mist, by Shirley Heights) who was also picked up by Bass, this time outlaying R2.3 million. From the Shirley Heights mare Mountains Of Mist, Mountain Master is a half-brother to Canadian Gr3 winner Madeira Mist, who in turn is the dam of Gr1-winning Montjeu entire Joshua Tree. Mountains Of Mist also produced the Irish stakes-winning mare Misty Heights. Finally there is Top Jet (Jet Master-Whatsinakiss, by Elliodor), a R1 million purchase for RC Muir Thoroughbred Enterprises. He is a half-brother to the stakes-winning Al Mufti gelding Kiss Again, who was also placed in the Gr1 Kenilworth Cape Guineas. Top Jet's second dam is the two-time Gr1-winning South African filly Kiss Of Peace. Both Mountain Master & Top Jet will have their first racetrack appearances in the In Memory Of Maliga Pillay Maiden Plate over 1200m. The final crop of 8-times Gr1 winner and Champion Sire Jet Master was offered at yearling sales this year.
