One More Start For Wise Dan Before Breeders' Cup

Thursday, 15th August 2013

Trainer Charles LoPresti is leaning toward the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland as the final Breeders' Cup hit-out for champion US galloper Wise Dan, reports bloodhorse.com. The program would be identical to that which LoPresti successfully executed last year when Wise Dan (Wiseman's Ferry-Lisa Danielle, by Wolf Power) claimed the Shadwell en route to his track record victory over Animal Kingdom in the Breeders' Cup Mile.  "He's not going to take much to get ready. I can breeze him on the grass down there, and he'd be ready to go," explained LoPresti. Wise Dan is coming off a successful title defence in the Fourstardave at Saratoga with the 6YO reportedly in good health.  "I gave him a bath today, and he wanted to rip my head off," divulged LoPresti. "He's a scary son of a gun, that horse. I'll tell you what, he wasn't even tired." The Gr1 Shadwell Turf Mile is scheduled for October 5 at Keeneland, Kentucky.
