First-Starter For Qatar Bloodstock At Geelong
An interesting runner at Geelong today is the Qatar Bloodstock-owned filly Racing Nadine (Bernardini-Ladies' Day, by Ascot Knight), and follows Qatar Bloodstock's maiden Australian win last week at Geelong. A Peter Moody-trained 3YO, Racing Nadine will contest the Brad Spicer Thoroughbreds Maiden Plate (1200m); the filly was a $210,000 purchase by renowned bloodstock agent David Redvers at the 2012 Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Scone-based nursery Sledmere Stud. Redvers has been active at the major thoroughbred sales around the world buying on behalf of Qatar Racing, a partnership comprising the Al Thani brothers of Qatar. The Qatar Racing colours of claret and gold were recently carried to victory by Irish filly Just The Judge in the Gr1 Irish One Thousand Guineas. Racing Nadine, from the Ascot Knight mare Ladies' Day, is a half-sister to dual Gr1 winner He's No Pie Eater, winner of the 2007 Chipping Norton Stakes & Rosehill Guineas. Both are members of the celebrated Best In Show family which includes Redoute's Choice, Hurricane Sky, Umatilla, Al Maher, El Gran Senor, Try My Best & Xaar.
