Pletcher Duo Thriving Ahead Of Travers

Tuesday, 20th August 2013

Top 3YO colts Palace Malice (Curlin-Palace Rumor, by Royal Anthem) & Verrazano (More Than Ready-Enchanted Rock, by Giant's Causeway) have pleased trainer Todd Pletcher ahead of the Gr1 Travers Stakes this weekend, reports bloodhorse.com.  Both gallopers were having their final serious hit-out before the race. "Palace Malice is feeling good," Pletcher said of the Belmont Stakes winner. "He's feeling great, actually, so we were happy to get him on the track. He seems to be thriving. The more he does, the better he gets." Pletcher was equally buoyant with Haskell Invitational winner Verrazano. "I thought he went very well. His gallop-out was very good," remarked Pletcher. "We got what we were looking for."  The 144th running of the $1 million Travers takes place this Saturday August 24 at Saratoga Race Course.
