High Profile Waterhouse Runner On Debut
Magnificently bred filly Forever Loved (High Chaparral-Diamond Like, by Danehill) will make her highly anticipated debut today in the TAB Rewards Handicap (1100m) at Canterbury. The Gai Waterhouse-trained 3YO was knocked down to Waterhouse and the ubiquitous James Harron for $650,000 at the 2012 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka. Bred by Sir Patrick Hogan's Cambridge Stud, Forever Loved is owned by Greg Kolivos and will carry the same blue with red lightning bolt silks as his champion colt Pierro. Forever Loved, a half-sister to the stakes-placed Ardeche and the promising staying mare Miss Zenella, which was runner-up in this year's Gr1 Queensland Oaks, boasts a pedigree that broodmare owners dream about. Not only is she by outstanding stallion High Chaparral, the sire of champion galloper So You Think, star Kiwi It's A Dundeel & top UK colt Toronado, but she is from a stakes-winning daughter of the breed-shaping Danehill who is a direct descendant of the legendary broodmare Eight Carat. Diamond Like is from the Gr1 winning mare Tristalove, making her a full-sister to sires Kempinsky and Viking Ruler. Forever Loved's third dam, Our Diamond Lover, is also a Gr1 winner and has produced Tristalove's siblings Antwerp, Don Eduardo & Peruzzi. Forever Loved counts the incomparable Eight Carat as her fourth dam. She remains one of only two or three other broodmares in the world to have produced 5 individual Gr1 winners, namely Octagonal, Kaapstad, Mouawad, Our Marquise and Our Diamond Lover.
