Makybe Diva Half-Brother Debut Today
Trainer Peter Moody will unveil one of the most valuable colts in all of Australasia today when the beautifully bred Rodway (Street Cry-Tugela, by Riverman) makes his debut at Sale. By outstanding Darley sire Street Cry, Rodway is a half-brother to champion racemare Makybe Diva. He was knocked down to Moody Racing for $1.2 million at the 2012 Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Tony Santic's Makybe Racing & Breeding operation. Rodway will be the 8th foal to race from his US-bred dam Tugela (Riverman-Rambushka, by Roberto). Apart from the legendary three-time Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva (Desert King), Tugela has also produced Gr3 winning mare Valkyrie Diva (Jade Robbery), Gr2 winning sire Musket (Redoute's Choice) & the stakes-placed gelding Shadowofexcellence (Redoute's Choice). Rodway is owned by a syndicate comprising some of racing's leviathan owners including his breeder Tony Santic, Richard Pegum & Neil Werrett.
