OBS Select Sale: Average Rises 26%
Tuesday's Ocala Breeders' Sales (OBS) Select Yearling Sale in Florida concluded with 137 horses selling for a gross of US$7,543,000, up 30 per cent compared to last year (132 lots for US$5,782,000). The average and median also rose with the average of US$55,058 up 26 per cent (43,803 in 2012), and the median of US$45,000 up 28.6 per cent (US$35,000 in 2012). Twelve horses sold for US$100,000 or more compared to six last year. The highest-priced offerings were a pair of grey or roan colts from the consignment of Summerfield Sales, by first-crop sire Concord Point & Scat Daddy, which both sold for US$250,000.
