Shamekha's Son Retires To Stud

Thursday, 22nd August 2013

The regally bred 4YO De Shamekh (Encosta de Lago-Shamekha, by Secret Savings) has been retired to stud and will join the stallion roster at Craiglea Stud in Queensland. The Emirates Park-bred colt raced in the colours of Hussain Lootah, son of stud principal His Excellency Nasser Lootah, winning one of his 4 starts. De Shamekh is the third living foal of Emirates Park's brilliant racemare Shamekha, a three-time Gr1 winner of the Coolmore Classic, TJ Smith Stakes & All Aged Stakes. The handsome chestnut son of leading stallion Encosta de Lago was retired due to niggling injuries which severely hampered his career. De Shamekh will commence stud duties at an introductory fee of $3,300 (inc. GST).
