King's Best Adds Irish Gr3

At The Curragh in Ireland, former Darley shuttler King's Best (Kingmambo-Allegretta, by Lombard) added a group success when 7YO gelding Royal Diamond (King's Best-Irresistible Jewel, by Danehill) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Johnny Murtagh in the 60,000 Gr3 Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (14 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO mare Voleuse de Coeurs (Teofilo-Vadorga, by Grand Lodge) & 4YO colt Ernest Hemingway (Galileo-Cassydora, by Darshaan). Royal Diamond took his record to 8 wins (including the Gr1 Irish St Leger) & 10 placings (including the Gr2 Yorkshire Cup & Gr3 Ballyroan Stakes) from 32 starts for £279,129 earnings.
