Gr1 Winner Creachadoir Sires First Winner

Tuesday, 27th August 2013

The Eve Johnson Houghton-trained 2YO colt What About Carlo became the first winner for his Gr1-winning sire Creachadoir (King's Best-Sadima, by Sadler's Wells) when winning at Goodwood on Sunday, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The French-bred juvenile was impressive when landing a maiden auction stakes event (8 furlongs) by 1.25-lengths defeating fellow colt Juan Alonso. What About Carlo's victory also provided the first success for his dam, Boccatenera, a full-sister to French Gr2 winning mare Boccassini. Creachadoir, a half-brother to three-time Gr1 winner Youmzain (Sinndar) & Gr3-winning Irish mare Shreyas (Dalakhani), was a top-class galloper who won 4 stakes races including the 2008 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. He stands at Haras Du Logis in France for a fee of €3,000.
