Tuesday, 27th August 2013

Two-year-old filly Sea Bubble became the first winner for her sire US Ranger (Danzig-My Annette, by Red Ransom) when capturing a maiden special weights event at Delaware Park on Saturday, reports bloodhorse.com. Bred by Kentuckians B.P. Walden & P.W. Madden, Sea Bubble (U.S. Ranger-Lovely Martha, by Storm Bird) is from the unraced mare Lovely Martha and is a half-sister to Gr1 Diana Stakes winner Sand Springs (Dynaformer). The US-bred US Ranger was campaigned in the UK, Europe and the US winning 5 of his 19 starts including the Listed Prix Djebel (7 furlongs) in France & the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes at The Curragh. Although he failed to capture a Gr1, US Ranger was a consistent performer at the elite level as evidenced by his 2nd placing behind Marchand d'Or in the 2008 July Cup. US Ranger, who is from a three-quarter sister to Dynaformer, stands at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Kentucky, alongside Distorted Humor, More Than Ready & leading US stallion Speightstown, at a fee of US$5,000.
