Mr Moet Arrives In Melbourne For Spring

Thursday, 29th August 2013

Top West Australian galloper Mr Moet (Mosayter-Marlock Miss, by Karioi Star) has touched down in Melbourne ahead of his spring opener in the Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on September 7, reports horseracing.com.au. The 6YO gelding proved to be a revelation last preparation with a surprise first-up victory in the Gr1 Railway Stakes followed by a 2nd in the Gr1 Kingston Town Classic behind Luckygray & victory in the Gr2 CB Cox Stakes. He then ventured to Melbourne and ran a cracking third to All Too Hard in the Gr1 CF Orr, & was runner-up to Foreteller in the Gr2 Peter Young Stakes before finishing mid-field in Super Cool's Gr1 Australian Cup. Trainer Adam Durrant has been impressed with Mr Moet's two recent barrier trial performances and is confident of a forward showing on his return. "He has come back in really good order," Durant revealed. "He is going to need to be better than he was in the Railway and lift a couple of cogs if he is going to be a spring contender."
