James Doyle Appointed As Khalid Abdullah Rider

Friday, 30th August 2013

In what must be the envy of a swathe of international jockeys, James Doyle has been appointed as the "retained rider" for all the UK runners of Khalid Abdullah, reports racingpost.com. Already well associated with the Abdullah stable, having ridden 18 winners over the past three years, the pinnacle of their recent success was when successful with Cityscape in the 2012 Dubai Duty Free. The partnership will launch in stakes class this weekend with Abdullah having a runner in the Gr3 Solario Stakes, none other than current pre-post Gr1 2,000 Guineas favourite Kingman. Racing manager to Abdullah, Lord Grimthorpe, commented, "Prince Khalid has been very impressed with his riding, including, of course, Al Kazeem this season ... James will ride all Juddmonte-owned, UK-trained horses, starting with Kingman at Sandown on Saturday."
